The owner of the Squash Design trademark has decided to sell this unique property in an open public offer.

There will be no selling agent involved in the transaction, and the sale will be a private transaction between the two parties, and subject to prior 'DUE DILIGENCE' by the eventual buyer, and a notarized contract passing the sole rights to the new owner.

Why sell? Well the brand was conceived in 1993 by Rich Walton, the founder partner of the Italian based company that is the rights owner and exclusive producer of Squash Design branded goods.
Rich has decide to move on, and as the sole driving force behind the brand, and the commercial operation, over the past 14 years of un-interupted trading , it is inevitable that to take the brand forward, a new owner is needed.

At the height of the brand's 15 year history an independent assessment was requested that valued the property at around €140,000 (approx. GBP £105,000).

This public offer will provide a potentially unique opportunity to purchase the property for a fraction of this valuation.

The potential for the brand as one of the very few unique dedicated brands for squash players is clearly difficult to evaluate.
What is clear is how far a single person with extremely limited capital and resources has been able to successfully position the brand worldwide with a full range of equipment for the squash consumer:
Clothing (the core business from the start), footwear, accessories, rackets, and eye-wear.

Absolutely the most important strength of the Squash Design brand is, and has been from the very start, the incredible positioning and endorsement it has achieved from the top players in the world.
Most notably in the UK, which has always represented the largest market, the success of the brand has always been linked to the top squash stars that have endorsed the products. In almost all other professional sports the value of this 'star player endorsement' would amount to hundreds of thousands of euros/pounds/dollars of advertising value.

This is not to say that squash is comparable to the televised popular sports, but nevertheless it can be said that Squash Design achieved a position in the niche squash market, through player endorsement plus a huge effort in representation at the big events, that was at times equivalent to the multi-national squash specialists like Prince, Dunlop, Hi-Tec, and Wilson, as well as much larger niche based companies such as Oliver, Karakal, and QM.

Please look through the 'HISTORY' pages to get an idea of the consistent range and depth of squash talent associated with the brand right from the beginning through to the last clothing collection in 2007, endorsed in the women's game by the Grinham sisters, and special 'guest endorsement' from the legend herself....Sarah Fitzgerald.
The history page also outlines the investment in the International Squash press and through trade stands at important squash tounaments.

For the squash consumer who latched onto the brand through its unique clothing range in the early 90's there has been a strong loyalty to the brand and its image, despite the challenge of a very small company trying to meet demand through a limited network of squash-specific retailers.
Some of those initial T-shirts and shorts are almost certainly still in the top drawer of those initial customers!

The eventual buyer of the brand will possess two main physical properties crucial to sustaining the initial investment and then to take it to its full potential as the niche squash related business.
1. The registered trade mark in the United Kingdom-
see left the official details from the UK IPO.

2. The domain names:
www.squashdesign.com and www.squashdesign.co.uk

Another strength of the squash design brand has been seen in its immediate entry, at birth in 1993, into the world of the internet, and consistent presence through the above domain names in the popular useage of squash enthusiasts of squash based sites.
Whilst current statistics are far lower than at the peak of the Squash Design market positioning in the 2000-2004 period, the data is still very respectable to re-launch the brand. (see left a recent URCHIN report).

Worldwide trade mark rights:
During the history of the brand we have traded through exclusive national distribution agreements under TM protection in more than 13 different countries.
The current situation worldwide is open to verification in a due diligence process, but a new owner of the registered trade mark would be immediately positioned to expand registration according to the Madrid convention regarding IP rights, and through the proven history of previous trading in the listed countries in the past 10 or so years.

As an original idea for an original brand, there will eventually be an open auction for the acquisition of the Squash Design trade mark, through our EBAY store. This auction will potentially be set up for a 10 day auction from 1st June 2008 - 10th June 2008. There will obviously be a realistic reserve, but the opening bid will be set at Euro 500,00.

We are confident that the right buyer will come forward and pick up the ball to take this unique brand to its rightful and full potential in the vast consumer arena that is worldwide dedicated squash consumers.
This is an fantastic opportunity to acquire this property at a great price.
